Understanding, not a diagnosis.
It's A Dog's Life offers general wellbeing, enrichment and behavioural information. Here's what that means, and when to seek professional help.
What we are
A companion to help you understand your dog and enrich their life. Our guidance is thoughtful and personalised, but it is general information, not professional advice.
What we are not
We are not veterinarians and we do not provide veterinary diagnosis or treatment. We do not replace a qualified veterinary surgeon, a certified behaviourist, or a professional trainer.
When to see a vet
Contact your vet if your dog shows sudden changes in behaviour, appetite, energy or mood, signs of pain, injury or illness, repeated distress, or anything that feels out of the ordinary for them.
Behavioural concerns
For significant or worsening behaviour, including fear, aggression, reactivity or separation distress, seek a qualified, force-free behaviourist or trainer. Sudden or severe changes warrant professional support.
Emergencies
If you believe your dog is in danger, in pain, or seriously unwell, contact your vet or an emergency clinic immediately.
Your judgement
You know your dog best. Please use your judgement, and treat our guidance as one input among many, not a substitute for professional care.
